Functions and Operating Principles of the DSRC

The Council shall carry out major studies and workshops as approved by the Executive Committee. The Council shall meet every summer at which time all studies and workshops will be reviewed and reported at wrap-up to the Director, Deputy Director and Office Directors of DARPA, or their designated representatives. The studies shall consist of a series of several workshops or other suitable activities throughout the year that culminate at the summer meeting. Such studies are expected to involve many Council members and should be of interest to a wide range of DARPA Program Managers. The workshops can be held at any convenient time during the year and/or as part of the summer meeting. All studies and workshops shall have an organizer and co-organizer selected from the DSRC membership. Written and oral reports will be prepared for DARPA on all DSRC studies and workshops. The Council shall assist DARPA in the organization of its own workshops, as deemed appropriate by DARPA Program Managers. No Council member shall normally be an organizer or co-organizer for more than one study in any given year. The Executive Committee as a whole shall assess the effectiveness of each study and workshop at the end of each year, and the Chair of the Council or a designated Council member shall provide feedback to the organizers. The Chair of the Council, the Administrative Coordinator and the DARPA Office Directors shall review the financial operations of the DSRC annually.
